S4E10: Beatles, Beers, & BullSh!t
When you bring together lifelong friends, a killer beer, and one of the most legendary bands of all time, you’re bound to end up with something just north of chaos — and that’s exactly what happened on this week’s episode of Are You Sh!tting Me?
This wasn’t just any episode. For the first time, Chuck joined us as an official co-host, and we couldn’t have picked a more fitting topic than The Beatles. The band that shaped rock ‘n’ roll also managed to shape a lot of our musical DNA—and today, we poured one out (or several) while diving into every corner of Beatlemania.
The Beer: Strawberry Fields by Crooked Stave
We cracked open Strawberry Fields Blonde Ale from Denver’s Crooked Stave Artisan Beer Project, and it turned out to be the perfect companion for the episode. At 5% ABV, this refreshing blonde is brewed with real strawberries and light enough to sip while arguing about which solo Beatle album is actually listenable.
Notes of sweet fruit and summer nostalgia came through, and if you’ve never sipped a strawberry ale while yelling about “Revolution 9,” we highly recommend the experience.
The Conversations
From the first chord of “Love Me Do” to the last note of “Let It Be,” we unpacked our personal histories with The Beatles, digging into the albums that changed our lives, the songs we skip (don’t @ us), and the weird theories that still live rent-free in our heads.
Highlights include:
-
A full breakdown of the “Paul is dead” conspiracy
-
A passionate debate about Ringo’s legacy
-
Favorite Beatles albums and deep cuts
-
Our own White Album hot takes
-
Why some Beatles fans are a little too intense
-
️ The wild evolution of the band’s sound — and their influence on modern music
Spoiler alert: things got spicy when we hit the topic of “Let It Be.”
Did You Know?
-
John was barefoot on the Abbey Road cover… which means he was dead. (Obviously.)
-
Some people really do believe you can hear backward messages on “Revolution 9.”
-
There are over 2,000 documented Beatles cover bands worldwide—and yes, Brett has thoughts.
-
Ringo may not have been the best drummer in the world… but he might’ve been the most important.
The Takeaway
This wasn’t about being experts—it was about being obsessed. The Beatles are one of those bands you don’t just listen to… you absorb, you argue about, and you pass down through generations. And despite all the bullsh!t, there’s a reason their music still resonates today.
Also: Strawberry Fields from Crooked Stave? It slaps. Hard.
