The Apocalypse Survival Guide: Would You Make It?

The world has just collapsed. Society is in ruins. The power grid is down. What’s your next move? If your answer is “cry” or “panic,” you might want to rethink your apocalypse plan.

This week, we dive into the ultimate survival guide, from where to hide out to what supplies you actually need.

Step 1: Where Do You Go?

Not all hideouts are created equal. Here are some of our top picks (and why some are terrible ideas):
A Walgreens or CVS – Great for medicine, supplies, and limited entry points. Temporary, but solid.
A Prison – Secure, fortified, but also cold and depressing. Worth it? Maybe.
A Mall – Tons of supplies, but way too many entrances. Hard pass.
A Cabin in the Woods – Good for isolation, bad for grocery runs.

Step 2: What Do You Pack?

If you had five minutes to leave your house, what would you grab? The CDC actually made a real zombie survival guide, and they suggest:

  • Water & non-perishable food
  • First aid kits
  • Flashlights & extra batteries
  • A radio (because no Wi-Fi means no doomscrolling)
  • Multi-tools, duct tape, and basic weapons

Step 3: How Would You Fortify Your Shelter?

If you’re staying put, you better secure your location. We debated:

  • Digging a moat – Because medieval defense still works, right?
  • Boarding up windows – Classic zombie movie move, but practical.
  • Setting traps – Who knew Home Alone was an apocalypse training video?

Step 4: What’s Your Luxury Item?

Survival is important, but so is keeping your sanity. Brett would bring a Lazy Boy recliner. Aaron? A bass guitar (because nothing clears a room faster).

What would you bring?
